Many doctoral candidates are interested in careers outside academia but find it difficult to understand how international and industry recruitment processes work.

This workshop helps PhD Candidates and Postdocs analyze job adverts, identify what employers are really looking for and translate academic experience into clear evidence of relevant skills. Participants learn how to read job descriptions more strategically, understand the difference between German and international application expectations and use STAR to prepare stronger written applications and interview answers.

The workshop also includes practical work on CVs. Participants learn how to adapt an academic CV for international and industry roles and how to make their experience more relevant to specific job adverts.

You will receive 2 CP for this workshop to complete your certificate of the former General Postgraduate Program (GPP).

No prior methodological knowledge is required.

Participants should have a good working knowledge of English, as the workshop is delivered in English and focuses on international applications.

Participants who already have an English CV should bring it to the workshop.
